John Kasich did not win any delegates in Tuesday's contests in four Western states, but "he has every right to stay in this race," former Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra told
Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
"John could win every delegate that's available between now and the convention," Hoekstra, who endorsed the Ohio governor in October, told "Newsmax Now" hosts J.D. Hayworth and Miranda Khan. He's the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

"He'd still come up short," Hoekstra said of Kasich. "The same is almost true for Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz would have to win close to 90 percent of the delegates available between now and the convention. He's not going to do that either.
"John Kasich needs to move forward with his campaign talking about why he thinks he's the best candidate," he added. "Ted Cruz should do the same thing — and they should stop worrying about whether he should get out of the race, they should get out of the race, we should stop that person, this person needs to win.
"Make your case for the Republican primary voters and let's see where we come out, where we're at with the convention — and then the delegates will decide."
