For America to start recovering from the mess created by Democrats and the Obama administration, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid needs to get the boot, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Tuesday on

"It’s the House that's passing hundreds of bills to get people back to work, and it's Harry Reid that isn't even grabbing on to even the most simple bills," Priebus said, noting that there more than 300 bills are sitting on Reid’s desk while Obama is on the campaign trail.
"Harry Reid stands in the way," he said. "We need to make it a part of the campaign for the fall and illustrate to the American people that who controls the Senate is important to what actually happens here in Washington, D.C."
Scared Democrats, who have to answer for a president with dismal approval ratings and the bungling of numerous crises, have been "trumping up" an impeachment campaign as a way to raise money, according to Priebus.
"They've figured out a way to raise some money on their side of the aisle," he said. "They're talking about impeachment all the time. It's a way to raise money, and they do a pretty good job out of it. They've put up with it. They sort of get their own joke, they play along and MSNBC joins in."
To defend his record of failure, the president parrots a "bogus" narrative of Republican obstructionism to the American people, something he could easily remedy by paying a visit to Reid, Priebus said.
"When it comes to this ridiculous rhetoric from the president, which is the Republican obstructionism, which is his favorite thing to say, that it's all bogus," Priebus said. "The reality is when you got 330 bills coming out of the Republican House, what some people argue is too much, sitting. Where are they sitting? They are sitting on Harry Reid's desk. So if the president was worried about obstruction, he should walk down the street, go to the Senate side chamber, walk into Harry Reid's office, and say what is going on, get something going."
Obama’s popularity has even plummeted in traditionally blue states like Oregon and Minnesota, putting those races into play, Priebus said. In order for the GOP to win big in November, the party needs to highlight its current successes and future plans.
"The reality is that the president is not popular," he said. "He's going to drag down the Democrats this year, and what we are trying to do is also highlight the fact that we've passed some bills here that are of substance and that people would want us to pass in Washington to get people back to work. There's a positive Republican agenda, it's not just how awful the president is, which he is pretty awful, as far as leading this country. It's also a Republican agenda that makes sense for the American people."
