Veteran Republican political consultant Roger Stone says the violence that broke out at a Donald Trump rally in Chicago, forcing it to be called off, is the work of paid goons hired by wealthy Democratic fat cats who support Hillary Clinton.
"This demonstration was paid for by [liberal billionaire businessman] George Soros through MoveOn.org and also by the idiot heir of the Progressive insurance fortune, Jonathan Lewis, and coordinated by David Brock, [founder of the left-leaning media watchdog, Media Matters," Stone said Monday to J.D. Hayworth on
"Newsmax Prime."

"These [protesters] were wearing Bernie Sanders t-shirts and holding Bernie Sanders signs. That's a false flag. These are Hillary Clinton supporters. The idea here is to cut off Sanders economic supporters.
"Not his hard left supporters but those blue-collared supporters who feel left behind by NAFTA and the international trade deals that have been denounced by both Trump and Sanders. There's a larger play here to try to use the protesters to brand Trump racist, bigot, inciting violence."
Stone says that at the same time, they're "trying to scare away those blue-collared Democrats who could conceivably leave Sanders once he is defeated and support Donald Trump in a general election."
On Saturday, rowdy protests shut down Trump's event in Chicago. Further disruptions at a rally on Saturday afternoon in Cleveland were quickly contained as Trump blamed them on Sanders and Clinton.
Stone, a former adviser to Trump, who also worked for President Richard Nixon, is author of
"Jeb! and the Bush Crime Family: The Inside Story of an American Dynasty," written with Saint John Hunt and published by Skyhorse.
