Republicans will move fast to combat President Barack Obama's expected executive order granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, Sen. Ron Johnson says.
"The House will take a look at this and take very targeted action through the appropriation process and that will be appropriate," Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican, said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show," on
Newsmax TV.
The president is just hours from unveiling a go-it-alone amnesty measure for immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.

Johnson, the incoming chairman of Homeland Security and the Government Affairs Committee, said his top priority will be to secure the U.S. border and enforce existing immigration law.
"[Obama's] unilateral executive action will increase the incentives for illegal immigration," Johnson said.
"So our policy prescription beyond what we do with the appropriation process … [is] to pursue, craft, and pass a strong border security enforcement bill.
"And that's really what I'm dedicated to do. I'm working on it right now."
Johnson said the comment by Affordable Care Act architect Jonathan Gruber that the "stupidity of the American people," allowed the healthcare law's passage, reveals the contempt Democrats have for the nation.
"It shows what Democrats really think of the American public. It just lays that bare. Democrats think Americans aren't smart enough to be able to choose their own healthcare plan. They don't think they're smart enough to be able to see through their lies and their deceptions," Johnson said.
"Unfortunately, a lot of people aren't paying attention and they actually believe what the president tells them … But this president has abused that trust.
"He had the 2013 Polifact Lie of the Year — if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it, period."
Johnson said he hopes Americans now realize about the Democrats is that "you can't trust these guys."
