Additional House investigations will be conducted into former President Joe Biden's family and members of the first House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 protests at the Capitol, despite the last-minute pardons they received, Rep. Pete Sessions told Newsmax Saturday.

"We have substantial evidence and data," the Texas Republican said on Newsmax's "America Right Now." "We simply need to collaborate that information directly with the people who then sit in the administration. Of particular note is the Treasury Department, the Internal Revenue Service, and the U.S. Attorney's Office."

Sessions added that he and Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the chairman of a new, Republican-led House select committee investigating Jan. 6, have gathered an "incredible amount of data and information" over the years.

Sessions, the chairman of the Government Operations subcommittee, said that "what we will soon have is people in place who will have access to official documents to find out who signed those documents, what the discussions were, and whether the president or the administration has time to get into this."

He added that the administration will "bank on" himself, Loudermilk, and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to provide the information and oversight needed to make a decision.

Further, acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin will be a "very valuable asset to this investigation," said Sessions.

"[He] is a person who not just has an understanding of law and order, but he is interested in making sure that justice is served," he said.

Sessions also discussed the release Saturday of four Israeli soldiers from Hamas custody and praised President Donald Trump as being the "key" to not just the release but for the "pressure" he is putting on Hamas.

"I'm so proud of what has happened," he said. "The Israeli people are brave people who we will continue to support. And Donald Trump as our commander in chief has his hands on that pulse," he said.

The congressman further spoke out about the growing arrests and deportations of criminal immigrants, saying that until now, federal, state, and local law enforcement "felt like they were put into a box" when it came to protecting their communities.

"You'll recall that there was a huge period where the Department of Justice indicated that they would prosecute local and state law enforcement officers for doing their sworn duty," said Sessions. "So there is a huge bit of not just understanding that they now are able to perform their duties to protect their citizens and the American citizens, but that they have a working partner."
