The White House is attempting to mask efforts by Muslim extremists to enact Sharia law — the Islamic legal system interpreted from the Quran — across the nation, former House majority leader Tom DeLay tells
Newsmax TV.
"The Obama administration is trying to hide the fact that Sharia law is trying to be imposed in the United States," DeLay, a Texas Republican, said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."
"The Heritage Foundation has identified 68 terrorist acts within the borders of the United States. The war is here."

DeLay defended Pamela Geller, whose "Draw the Prophet" art event in Garland, Texas, sparked violence when two Islamic State-inspired gunmen opened fire, only to be shot dead by police.
"People like Pam Geller are trying to stand up and let the American people know that we have a serious problem in this country and we have to deal with it," DeLay said.
"Obviously, the response from radical Islamists is to shoot people up and kill people for what they believe.
"We're seeing a form of it in all of this religious freedom activity that's going on where the government is trying to come in and tell people what they can believe and how to run their businesses based upon what they believe."
DeLay, a Washington Times radio host, said Muslims in Garland have been on a mission to impose Sharia law "on a voluntary basis."
Their next step, he said, is forcing the law on Americans, which appears to be occurring in some cases.
"Honor killings are happening in this country. Manipulation and destruction of female genitals is happening in this country," DeLay said.
"Everything that the radical Islamists are talking about are in their holy book and we've got to have a discussion about this.
"We have to make sure that these kinds of beliefs are not imposed on our Constitution or our way of life," DeLay said.
