Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay believes President Donald Trump should stop being silent about Roy Moore and actively support the former Alabama state judge who is seeking a Senate seat despite multiple allegations he molested and harassed teenage girls.
"I don't see why Trump couldn't go in there and campaign for Moore," DeLay, a Texas Republican, told host John Bachman on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live" on Monday.

DeLay hinted the allegations against Moore – who has insisted he will not withdraw from the race despite the urging of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other prominent Republicans – might be part of a Democratic smear job.
And he compared it to his own legal nightmare in which he was convicted of criminal charges of conspiracy to violate election law but was later acquitted.
"I suffered under the Democrat criminalization of politics for 18 years on all kinds of ethics charges, racketeering," DeLay said. "I was even convicted of a law that doesn't exist. All frivolous, all dismissed. So I know what the Democrats are capable of doing.
"I don't know anything about the allegations [against Moore] than what I read in the papers, but there's little or no evidence . . . I've known him for 20 years, is a man of principle, a man of faith. He practices his faith, God is above all to him.
"So even if these things 40 years ago happened, his life has changed, and he's led a different kind of life than that. But he says it's not true, and he's going to stick it out and fight it out, so more power to him. Particularly when you compare him to [Democratic opponent] Doug Jones . . . he's the left of the left."
The first of several women who have pointed the finger at Moore for alleged inappropriate sexual behavior, rebuffed any notion Monday she came out for political or financial gain, telling NBC's "Today" show: "I didn't go looking for this."
Leigh Corfman, allegedly the youngest of Moore’s victims, claims she was 14-years-old when Moore, then a 32-year-old assistant district attorney, took her to his home and "proceeded to seduce me" nearly 40 years ago.
So far, nine women have come forward to accuse Moore of sexual misconduct. He has emphatically denied any wrongdoing.
