"Many of these guys have been called known wolves, not lone wolves, known wolves," he told host Bill Tucker on "America Talks Live" in an interview. "The problem is that in all of our apparatus, even in America, we're still focused on that last stage.

"There's a reason why most of these guys are homegrown — born in Britain, born in Germany, Italy, wherever it is," he said. "They're not necessarily the refugees.

"Most of these are homegrown because the separatist culture — the underbelly of imams, communities, families — that tell them that the West hates them, that the conspiracy theories, the misogyny of Islamism, is preferable to the free-wielding freedoms of the West."

Jasser called these "ideologies" "nonviolent" — and, as such, "aren't looked at as precursors of violent jihadism.

"The nonviolent civilizational jihad is ignored."
