John Sununu: Cohen Raid Could Hurt Mueller Probe

By    |   Monday, 16 April 2018 05:18 PM EDT ET

John Sununu says the federal raid on the home and office of President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen might be counterproductive to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is separately probing Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential race and whether the Trump campaign was involved.

"In an odd way, this raid now provides what I think is a politically acceptable excuse for the president and his lawyers to say that Mueller is not going to get an interview with the president," Sununu, a New Hampshire governor and White House chief of staff under Presicdent George H.W. Bush, told host John Bachman on Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now" on Monday.
