Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, once considered a lock to win re-election in a state that has not voted a Democrat into statewide office in 25 years, is being outmatched by Democratic opponent Rep. Beto O'Rourke in head-to-head fundraising.

Campaign fundraising numbers released over the weekend by the Cruz campaign indicate O'Rourke out-raised Cruz by more than a stunning 2-1 margin through March. O'Rourke raised $6.7 million compared to $3.2 million for Cruz.
