Abortion-rights activists are demanding the nationwide legalization of chemical abortions via telemedicine — as opposed to a doctor's visit — in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Federal and state health officials have already loosened regulations to allow for doctor visits via teleconference during the contagion. In many cases, doctors no longer need to be physically present to prescribe medications.
