Roger Stone, a longtime ally of President Donald Trump who is now in the crosshairs of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, on Tuesday dismissed criticism of the president's tweet praising Stone's "guts" for standing his ground against the Mueller investigation.

In remarks on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live," Stone took particular aim at George Conway, husband of presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway, who was among those who slammed the presidential tweet, suggesting it amounted to obstruction of justice and witness tampering.
