Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said Sunday there are more witnesses and documents for House impeachment investigators to review and question — but they will not to avoid "months and months of rope a dope in the courts."
In an interview on NBC News' "Meet the Press," the head of the House Intelligence Committee said investigations continue in the impeachment inquiry.
"There are still other witnesses, other documents that we would like to obtain, but we are not willing to go the months and months and months of rope a dope in the courts, which the administration would more than love for us to do," he said.
"We're not stopping [investigations] – the evidence is already overwhelming," he added. "Even as we compile this report, submit evidence, we're going to continue an investigation."
He also left open the door to more public hearings, declaring "we don't foreclose the possibility of others."
In a separate interview on CNN's "State of the Union," Schiff added "the remarkable thing" is "the facts are really not contested" by the Trump administration.
"It is really not contested what the president did. What is open to question is whether members of Congress are going to do their duty," he said.
