House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., admits he was not initially forthcoming of being in touch with the whistleblower who filed a complaint on alleged inappropriate pressure on Ukraine to investigation corruption related to Joe Biden.

"I should have been much more clear," Schiff admitted CBS's "Face the Nation."

News ultimately broke that aides for Schiff's intel committee had directed the whistleblower to lawyers and the Intelligence Community Inspector General before he filed his complaint. Schiff was then inclined to issue a more clear picture of connections with the anonymous whistleblower.

"I said so, the minute it was brought to my attention that I was referring to the fact that when the whistleblower filed the complaint we had not heard from the whistleblower," he told host Margaret Brennan.

"We wanted to bring the whistleblower in at that time. But I should've been much more clear about that."
