President Donald Trump's job approval rating has climbed to 52%, according to a new poll.
A Zogby poll released Thursday indicates that more Americans support how the president is running the country.
Poll results show:
- 52% of voters say they somewhat approve of the job Trump is doing.
- 47% of voters say they disapprove of the job Trump is doing.
- 88% of GOP voters say they approve of how Trump is running the country.
- 44% of independents say they back the job Trump is doing.
- 23% of Democrats say they somewhat approve of the president’s job performance.
According to Zogby, the rise in crime across big cities is helping to boost the president’s approval rating.
"Unlike a year ago, the president is performing well with voters in large cities," Zogby pollsters write. "It's highly likely he is benefiting from the uptick in violence. His law and order message is resonating with urban voters at the moment."
Zogby also noted that Trump is polling better among younger voters and millennials.
"The battle for each campaign, whether it's Biden or Trump, is for the middle 10-20% who haven't made up their minds, and probably won't until the they are in voting booths come Nov. 3," Zogby stated.
The poll surveyed 901 likely voters between Aug. 17-19. The margin of error is 3.3 percentage points.
