Fox News political analyst Juan Williams said Monday he believes young voters will turn out in droves to support Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the Iowa caucuses as the 2020 race for the presidency clicks into gear.
Williams, co-host of "The Five," told the network's Bill Hemmer that Sanders will get a boost from the youth vote.
"You are in Iowa," Williams said. "You stop and think about Iowa for a second, you got to think about college towns and Bernie Sanders is going to take advantage of a lot of that young people energy. I think he's going to turn them out big time in those caucuses.
"What we've seen over the last few years is a spike in the number of people who self-identify as liberal or progressive Democrats, and that's particularly true among young people and those are Bernie bros."
The Iowa caucuses officially start at 8 p.m. ET Monday, although Sanders won the first caucus in the Hawkeye State earlier in the day when a group of workers from a pork plant held a caucus at a union hall and chose him.
