There was harsh backlash against actress Bette Midler for mocking First Lady Melania Trump’s accent during her address to the Republican National Convention on Tuesday from the White House Rose Garden, Fox News reported on Wednesday.

During the first lady’s speech, Midler wrote a series of insulting tweets, including "Oh, God. She still can’t speak English" and, in another one, “#beBest is back! A UGE bore! She can speak several words in a few languages. Get that illegal alien off the stage!"

Radio host Dana Loesch slammed the actresss, writing on Twitter that "Xenophobe who speaks one language mocks immigrant who can speak five."

Actor James Woods added in a tweet of his own that "The party of diversity mocks an American for her accent."

Conservative podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey pointed out the hypocrisy that was evident for her, tweeting "Called it. The same people who call Trump a racist."
