If President Donald Trump fires special counsel Robert Mueller over his investigation into Russian election interference, he should be impeached, former U.S. attorney Preet Bharara said Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bharara encouraged President Donald Trump to continue making comments about the Russia investigation on Twitter.

Bharara said Sunday during a CNN interview that he would be watching for two reactions from Trump about the indictments in the investigation.

"One, whether or not Donald Trump has some reaction and talks in a way that could be used against him in the future, because Bob Mueller would do that," Bharara said.

"The second thing I would look at is to see if the president of the United States is sending some kind of message of intimidation some way, through himself or his cohorts, suggesting that people should not be talking and people should keep their mouths shut," Bharara told CNN.
