Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Thursday night that if President Donald Trump fires the special counsel appointed to investigate Russian interference in the election, he will never shake the implications.
Bharara, who was among scores of U.S. attorneys fired and forced to resign by Trump, was responding to reports that the president's aides are looking for ways to undercut special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
On Wednesday, Bharara took to Twitter to slam Trump over his comments on Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom the president criticized for recusing himself from the investigation.
