Democrats are failing by sticking with policies that voters have soundly rejected — including in the election of Donald Trump as president, best-selling author David Horowitz told Larry King's "PoliticKing" show.
"They lost an election. People have rejected all the things they're doubling down on," said Horowitz, author of "Big Agenda: President Trump's Plan to Save America."
Democrats have controlled all the major cities in America for 50 to 100 years, yet have little to show for it, especially among poor minority students who are stuck in failing public schools, Horowitz said.
Democrats oppose Trump's Education Secretary Betsy DeVos because she has fought to help those very students, he told King. Democrats will defend failing public schools "to the death," Horowitz said, because teachers unions are their base.
Trump will end up being a more significant president than Franklin Roosevelt because he will help get poor minorities into better schools with vouchers, he said.
Horowitz was critical of Republicans who have held control of the House of Representatives since 2010 because they promised to fight Obamacare and amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Instead, they funded them all, because "They're scared of being called obstructionists, they're scared of being called racists," Horowitz said. "Donald Trump is not scared."
"When have we had a politician who comes into office and works practically 24/7 around the clock to implement his promises?" he asked. "Everything he's done he said he would do in the course of the campaign. And I think he's a game-changer. And that's because he's not intimidated by political correctness. There is no other Republican who on national TV would look Hillary Clinton in the eye and say, 'You're a liar and a crook' even though she's both? That's liberation."
