Legendary college basketball coach Bobby Knight will speak at the Republican National Convention, while boxing promoter Don King might get a speaking spot as well.
Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump said during a rally in Cincinnati Wednesday night he will be joined by Knight in Cleveland later this month.
"Bobby Knight. Bobby will be speaking at the convention. We have so many people. We have such a great convention plan," Trump said, reports
Fox 8 Cleveland.
Regarding King, Trump said he spoke with the 84-year-old and asked him to join the list of convention speakers.
"You know who I just spoke to? Big Don King, big Don King," Trump said. "I just spoke to him 10 minutes ago."
CNN posted a clip of the remarks on Twitter.
"I said, 'Don, I'd love you to speak at the convention, because you know what? You've beat the system.' And he's a friend of mine. Big Don. Greatest boxing promoter of all time."
Trump then spoke about
an ad in a newspaper King owns that called for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to be Trump's vice president.
"How do you like that?" Trump said Wednesday. "He put a big ad in his paper. He wants Bernie Sanders for vice president. That's a new one."
