Rejecting the pointed criticism of his holding campaign rallies amid the coronavirus crisis, President Donald Trump pointed back at the media, saying someone ought to ask the Democrats about their numerous campaign rallies.
"Well, this was set up a long time ago and others are," Trump told reporters Monday, during an Oval Office meeting with Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez. "You could ask that to the Democrats because they're having a lot of rallies.
"We're all having rallies. That's what they're doing. They're campaigning."
Trump held a campaign rally Friday night in South Carolina before Saturday's primary and is holding another Monday night in Charlotte, North Carolina, before Super Tuesday primaries. A total of 14 states will vote to decide primary delegates Tuesday.
"I think it's very safe," Trump concluded.
