Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina took a swipe at Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton right out of the gate at Thursday's undercard debate, raising the specter of former President Bill Clinton's past with women.
"The truth is I have had and been blessed by a lot of opportunity to do a lot of things in my life, and, unlike another woman in this race, I actually love spending time with my husband," Fiorina said to laughter from the crowd.
Fiorina has suggested in the past she would make the best general election candidate against Hillary Clinton because it would take away Clinton's ability to use her gender — as the first potential female president — in the race.
But Fiorina also managed to reference speculation that the Clintons don't spend much time together. Fiorina, on the other hand, has had her husband, Frank, has gone on the campaign trail with her.
Later, Fiorina took a swipe at the former secretary of state's email scandal. Several months ago, when defending her use of a private email account, Clinton pled ignorance about her server being wiped clean.
Fiorina channeled Clinton's comment in a debate conversation about using technology to fight crime and terror.
"Finally we need a president who understands technology in the Oval Office," she said. "Mrs. Clinton, you actually cannot wipe a server with a towel."
