Congressman Charlie Dent on Wednesday said he "disagrees" with Eric Trump that Republicans aren't doing enough on behalf of his father, President Donald Trump.

Eric Trump complained to Fox News' host Sean Hannity on Monday night that Republicans aren't getting in line and fighting for the president.

"I have to disagree with Eric. A lot of us are working with this administration very constructively," Dent said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program. "But sometimes the administration needs to get out of its own way."

The Pennsylvania Republican noted Trump's transgendered tweet that caught his own defense secretary by surprise on an issue that Dent had been engaged and working with Jim Mattis.

Dent also said his viewpoint was that Trump was hands-off during the healthcare legislation.

"I always had the sense that the administration and the president had outsourced the healthcare issue to Congress," Dent said. "Let Congress handle this, and at least the president seemed to be less engaged with any specific details. That was my experience on that issue."
