Chelsea Clinton Doesn't Rule Out Running for Public Office

Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, hasn't closed the door to someday running for political office.

"I'm grateful to live in a city and a state and a country where I really believe in my elected officials," she said on CNN when asked about a possible future run.

"Someday, if [that] weren’t true, and I thought I could make more of a difference in the public sector, or if I didn’t like how my city or state or country were being run, I'd have to ask and answer that question," Clinton said.

Clinton lives with her husband in New York City. Her response echoed what she told NBC in April.

In any case, Clinton has consciously decided to live a more public life, she told CNN. She works for her father's Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative. She also serves as a special correspondent for NBC News.

"I really felt like I could make a difference, and then I should make a difference," Clinton told CNN. "I had very much led a deliberately private life for a long time, and now I’m attempting to lead a purposely public life."
