Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., called on Republicans to work with Democrats and save those protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Murphy's comments came in a Sunday night tweet:
Politico reported Trump has decided to end DACA. Under the program, the government grants work permits to undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children.
The website said the White House is planning a six-month delay in enforcement of Trump's decision to allow Congress to act.
The Hill noted more than 800,000 people have benefited from the program.
