A CNBC/Change Research poll conducted after Tuesday night's contentious presidential debate puts Democrat nominee Joe Biden ahead of President Donald Trump by 54% to 41% with likely voters, but only 2% of those polled said the debate changed their minds on who will get their vote.
The poll, taken Tuesday night and Wednesday of 925 likely voters nationally, also showed that 53% of likely voters said Biden did a better job in the debate, compared with 29% for Trump, CNBC reports.
In other findings:
- 45% said Trump performed worse than expected, compared to 11% for Biden.
- 98% said the debate didn't change their vote.
- 77% of voters said the debate did not make them feel proud of being an American.
- 55%-28% say there should be more debates this year.
The poll sampled 925 national likely voters and carried a margin of error 3.22 percentage points. The margin grew to 3.47 percentage points in questions about the debate, with 796 voters in the poll saying they watched it.
