CNN will host a debate about tax reform with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., joined by two other senators, according to the news network.

The debate will pit Cruz and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., against Sanders and Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., on Tuesday, Nov. 28, CNN said.

"The CNN Town Hall Debate comes as Republicans and Democrats in the Senate are deeply immersed in a philosophical battle over the GOP's plan to remake the U.S. tax code that may include repealing the Obamacare individual mandate," the announcement said.

The House passed its tax bill on Thursday, with 13 Republicans opposed the legislation, according to The Hill.

CNN host Jake Tapper and chief political correspondent Dana Bash will be moderators for the event, airing live from Washington, D.C. at 9 p.m. EST on Nov. 28.
