President Donald Trump slammed the veracity of CNN’s polling on Monday after a survey released by the network showed that his rating decreased 7 points and that he is now 14 points behind Democrat Joe Biden in the race for November’s presidential election.
“CNN Polls are as Fake as their Reporting,” Trump wrote on Twitter about an hour after the survey was released. “Same numbers, and worse, against Crooked Hillary. The Dems would destroy America!”
The Hill pointed out that polls only offer a barometer of public thinking at a given time and cannot predict a race that is still five months away.
However, an increasing number of surveys from various sources recently have given the indication that Trump’s national support has decreased as the president and his administration attempt to cope with the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the economic fallout from the pandemic and the widespread demonstrations over racial injustice and police brutality.
