White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Sunday discounted concerns about whether President Donald Trump held up Ukraine military aid unless a corruption probe of the Bidens was conducted, declaring the bottom line is "they got their aid."
In a fiery interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Conway said she didn’t know “whether the aid was being held up and for how long.”
President Donald Trump’s July 25 conversation with Ukraine’s president in which he sought the probe during a conversation about aid was the impetus for a House impeachment inquiry now underway.
Conway said requesting a corruption probe “is not impeachable.”
“They got the aid, one presumes they're using that aid,” she said. “The Ukrainian president [said he] felt no pressure and never knew aid was being held up. But for President Trump there would be no kind of aid going to Ukraine right now.
“Under President [Barack] Obama, he was the ‘My Pillow’ guy for Ukraine…sending pillows.”
In a separate interview on "Fox News Sunday," Conway hedged on whether the White House would cooperate with impeachment inquiry, which it has so far refused to do.
“We at the White House will continue to exert executive privilege wherever we feel it is necessary," she said.
She also batted back a CNN report that former campaign manager Paul Manafort blamed the Ukranians for having hacked into the Democratic National Committee servers.
“Who cares?” she said of whether the intelligence community insistence it was Russia that interfered in the 2016 election, or Ukraine., to which CNN host Dana Bash replied, "Your boss does."
“My boss won,” Conway retorted. “He became the president.”
