Rep. John Joyce to Newsmax TV: 'Keep Workers in Place'

The latest proposals for the coronavirus stimulus incentivize American workers to stay home, making more money not to work, which is "unacceptable," according to Rep. John Joyce, R-Pa., on Newsmax TV.

"We have to be very understanding of how to keep workers in place – how to provide small businesses with the ability to do that," Joyce, a member of the Small Business Committee, told Wednesday's "The Chris Salcedo Show." "We cannot overpay workers to stay at home.

"Paying people to stay at home, paying them more then get for being at work is an unacceptable agenda."

Joyce, also a dermatologist, supports relief to address business and healthcare, but it cannot be stuffed with Democratic agenda items on top of that, because it must focus to "address the effects of the coronavirus on the American people."

"This bill is being bogged down by socialist problems, and we don't need to address that right now," Joyce told Salcedo. "We need to get on the same side of the ball to push it forward and to do the right thing at the right time, and that is providing the right economic aid that will help us fight this incredible novel coronavirus."
