There's a sixth Democratic presidential debate podium ready — just in case Joe Biden jumps into the White House race at the last minute.

CNN correspondent Jim Acosta on Monday morning tweeted out the contingency plan for the vice president as the cable news network readied plans for the Democrat candidates' first official debate.

CNN is hosting the debate Tuesday night in Las Vegas, and on Monday, released the lineup for the five declared candidates: Hillary Clinton will take center state, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will stand at her right and Martin O'Malley will be at her left.

Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee will bookend the group.

"Should Vice President Biden decide to enter the race and take part in the debate, there would be a podium placed on the stage for him as well," CNN reports.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports if Biden is a late entrant, he'd take O'Malley's spot.

CNN has previously reported, however, that not only has Biden extended the window for making a decision about a presidential run — it was initially expected by the end of summer — but that he isn't preparing for the first debate.

According to the CNN report, he's likely to reveal his plans in the second half of October.
