Sen. Ted Cruz enthusiastically rubbed salt in the wounds of Democrats as he spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday, saying he has never seen such fury on the left over the Republican sweep of the White House and Congress.

In a conversation with conservative radio host Mark Levin, Cruz also called for term limits on Capitol Hill and defunding the United Nations until it ends its ongoing anti-Israel platform. And he predicted there might be another vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court within months, but did not elaborate.

"The anger on the left — I've never seen anything like it . . . They are filibustering everything," Cruz, a Texas Republican told CPAC participants who packed an auditorium.
He said Senate Democrats are also terrified of angry voters on the left — referring to their base as "bat crap crazy."

"Now it's time for Republicans to keep our promises and do what we said we would do!"

But Cruz said Americans are also fed up with the seemingly endless runs of some lawmakers in Washington and want to "throw the bums out."

"People are fed up with Washington . . . Democrats and Republicans have been here too long . . . Bring up term limits," he said.

Cruz also called for term limits in Congress and said the U.S. should stop funding the United Nations until it ended its ongoing anti-Israel rhetoric.

"We ought to listen . . . Hold us accountable," Cruz said.

He ribbed former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, saying his less-than-stellar leadership helped turn Washington into a GOP-led shop.

"Thank you Harry Reid for Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the most conservative cabinet in years," Cruz told the cheering crowd.

He also said putting conservative jurists on the Supreme Court is a priority.

"After eight years of Obama, there are few things more important than putting principled constitutionalists on [the court]," he said, adding he guarantees Judge Neil Gorsuch, Trump's nominee to fill the vacant seat of Antonin Scalia, will be confirmed next month.

"Make no mistake, we are going to confirm Judge Gorsuch," he said.

Cruz also predicted there could be another vacancy on the high court soon.

"This summer, I think we'll have another Supreme Court vacancy," he said, without explaining further.
