Democrats went into battleground states and changed election laws to rig the presidential election by using the coronavirus pandemic as an “excuse,” says Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

“Because of coronavirus, they went into states like Pennsylvania and Nevada and they changed election laws and they really rigged the system,” McDaniel said Thursday during an appearance on Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

“Democrat legislators, Democrat governors in Pennsylvania’s case, saying ballots can be counted up Friday after the election even if there’s no postmark.”

Nevada in August passed a bill requiring mail-in ballots to be sent to active, registered voters as a way to keep voters safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In September, Pennsylvania’s highest court gave the Democratic Party a series of victories in the battleground state, relaxing deadlines in its fledgling mail-in voting law, approving more ballot collection sites, and kicking the Green Party’s presidential candidate off the November ballot.

“So many things that are causing uncertainty, and they used COVID as an excuse, and it was allowed to happen, and it is just wrong,” McDaniel said. “And it is rigged, and it's wrong against the president. It's wrong against Republicans, and now they won't let us watch. These are the types of things that COVID allowed Democrats to do to change the election laws and we’re going to fight it on the back end to make sure there was election integrity.”
