House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, looking to raise money for his re-election, is citing the conclusion for GOP members of his panel that there is no evidence of collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign, The Hill noted.
"After more than a year of diverted resources and slanderous attacks from the far left over alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian hackers, we've reached a conclusion about collusion: there was none," Nunes, R-Calif., said in a fundraising email.
"Now, their attacks against me are growing stronger — extreme liberals in Hollywood, Washington, D.C., and across the country have set their sights on me and my seat in Congress," Nunes continued.
"They will say and do anything to support their far-left candidate against me."
Nunes' committee voted last week to approve its final report on the Russian meddling in the 2016 election. The report, which has not been released yet, will give a final endorsement to the GOP conclusion there was not coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.
