President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday nominated outgoing North Carolina GOP Rep. Dan Bishop for the post of Deputy Director at the Office of Management and Budget.

Bishop ran for attorney general of North Carolina but lost a close race to Rep. Jeff Jackson, D-N.C., last month.

"Dan has been a tireless fighter for our MAGA Movement in the House of Representatives on the Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees. Dan will implement my cost-cutting and deregulatory agenda across all Agencies, and root out the Weaponized Deep State," Trump said in a post to Truth Social.
