Poll: 46% Voters Think Trump Will Use Nuclear Weapon

Nearly 50 percent of voters believe Donald Trump will use a nuclear weapon against his enemies and is also likely to misuse his presidency powers to punish his political opponents, according to a new poll, The Hill reported.

The survey, which was conducted by SurveyMonkey on behalf of Lincoln Leadership Initiative, about also showed that a majority of voters think Trump will allow the U.S. to default on its debt.

According to the poll, majority of the voters are of the view that as president, Trump will draw up a database to track Muslims and order military action against the families of terrorists.

Other results:

  • 65 percent of voters believe there would be race riots in major cities during a Trump presidency
  • 44 percent of voters believe Trump would authorize internment camps for illegal immigrants
  • Among Trump supporters, 48 percent said he'll create a database to track Muslims; 36 percent believe there will be race riots; 33 percent are of the perception that the government would default on its debt; and 32 percent say Trump would punish his political opponents and authorize internment camps for illegal immigrants.
  • Meanwhile, only 22 percent of Trump supporters are of the opinion that the Republican nominee will start a nuclear war.

"The poll shows that Donald Trump is getting his message across, because he has promised most of these goals as part of his platform," said B. Jay Cooper, the former deputy White House press secretary and communications director for the Republican National Committee.

The poll, which was conducted between Sept. 16 and 21 with 1,051 participants, had a 4 percentage point margin of error.
