President Donald Trump Friday continued his call for Senate Republicans to end the filibuster rule and go to a 51 percent majority, saying "few bills will be passed" unless that happens.

Early Friday, the president tweeted

The tweet is the latest in a series of calls from Trump to change Senate rules after the upper chamber failed to repeal Obamacare legislation.

On Wednesday, Trump tweeted:

However, the Obamacare vote itself was decided under the 51 percent majority rule, with GOP Sens. John McCain of Arizona; Susan Collins of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska voting against the measure.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, however, has vowed not to change the Senate rules, saying the Obamacare measure did not fail because of Democrats who opposed it.

Instead, McConnell said, the problem was that "we didn't have 50 Republicans."
