Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia will endorse Jeb Bush for president on Friday – and become co-chairman of his campaign in that state, Politico reports.

Cantor was courted by other candidates for his strong political network in the state and connection to Jewish business leaders, donors and key supporters, Politico reported, but in the end went with Bush.

"They have known each other for a long time, speak regularly and have great mutual respect for one another," a Cantor source was quoted as saying. "Eric believes he is the only candidate with a real long-term vision for the country who can also actually implement it – not just talk about it."

Cantor will introduce Bush at a fundraiser Thursday night and appear with him at another event on Friday.

The two other Bush co-chairs for Virginia are former Health and Human Services Secretary Kay Coles James and former Virginia Lt. Gov. John Hager.
