Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, a Republican, said Wednesday that President Donald Trump will likely succeed in passing a tax bill this week.

Speaking at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Petroleum Conference, or ADIPEC, Cantor said that Washington hasn't figured Trump out, describing him as a "very conventional" and "disruptive" leader, according to CNBC.

"There is a much greater than 50 percent chance that tax reform will happen… the U.S. has got to stay competitive in this disruptive environment," he added.

House Republicans are planning on holding a vote on their tax reform bill this Thursday, although on Tuesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan described the bill as a "work in progress," to reporters on Tuesday, according to CNBC.
