President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday named philanthropist and Pulte Capital CEO Bill Pulte to serve as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

FHFA is an independent agency that was established by the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. The agency is responsible for the effective supervision, regulation, and oversight of the housing mission of the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Bank System, which includes the 11 Federal Home Loan Banks and the Office of Finance.

"I am pleased to announce that Bill Pulte will serve as the next Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency," Trump posted on Truth Social.

"Bill needs no formal introduction to the Great Citizens of our Country, because they have seen, and many have experienced, his philanthropy firsthand. He believes in the incredible potential of our Nation, and will help us restore the American Dream FOR ALL."

"Congratulations Bill!" Trump added.

Trump also announced that Wells Griffith will be the next undersecretary of energy at the U.S. Department of Energy; Dr. Darío Gil will be the next undersecretary for science and innovation at the Energy Department; and former New York Rep. Brandon Williams will serve as the next undersecretary for nuclear security and the administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration at the Energy Department.
