The presidential election will most likely be called "in the next 36 hours," meaning Americans will know whether President Donald Trump or Democrat nominee Joe Biden won the race by Saturday afternoon, predicted GOP pollster and strategist Frank Luntz.
"There are enough states and enough electoral votes that can be called where it's going to be very tough for the president" to win, Luntz said on CNBC's "Squawk Box" Friday morning. "Then we're going to have a period where he has every right to challenge in these various precincts, in these districts ... the validity of the vote."
There are a number of battleground states, including Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina, in which votes are still being counted and the race remains too close to call.
The pollster also commented on the Georgia senate races headed for runoff elections in January, saying, "I've seen elections like this before. Voters tend to choose incumbents in a situation like that," meaning Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue would have the advantage.
"We are right at razor's edge. I cannot emphasize enough just how impactful this [election] is gonna be on economic policy for the country," Luntz added.
