House conservatives have found a healthcare plan they can rally behind, and according to The Washington Post, there are three reasons why they like it so much:

  • Prevents funding of abortions.
  • Expands health savings accounts.
  • It exists.

The Freedom Caucus has become increasingly frustrated waiting around for the GOP group think to propose a repeal and replace for Obamacare.

"I don't think it's gotten deep in the weeds about what it will actually include yet," Sen. Mark Sanford told the Post.

Meanwhile, Sanford and Sen. Rand Paul dusted off the 2015 budget measure that was blocked by President Barack Obama and co-wrote new legislation that the Freedom Caucus's membership has green-lighted, the Post reported.

The Sanford-Paul bill scraps most of the Affordable Care Act, the Post reported.

Whether Sanford-Paul gets passed as is isn't the point, the Post reports. Conservatives want to get ahead with the tent pole provisions of the bill and also hold the line on the budget reconciliation of the 2015 measure, the Post reported.
