Conservative columnist George Will is not a fan of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, but he agrees with him on one of Trump's latest issues: The elections are rigged.
But, Will said Monday on Fox News Channel's "Special Report," Trump should focus on the fact that it is Democrats who are doing the rigging.
"When Mr. Trump talks about it being rigged, he sweeps all his grievances into one big puddle," Will said. "He talks about the media. He talked about the primaries. He talked about the polls. Talked about the Republican national committee."
But when most people think of election-rigging they think of government action being behind it, Will said.
"Mr. Trump has a point if he would make it more clearly," he said. "It's hard to think of an innocent reason why Democrats spend so much time, energy and money, scarce resources, resisting attempts to purge the voter rolls, remove people who are dead or have left the jurisdiction. It's hard to think of an innocent reason why they fight so tremendously against voter I.D. laws."
It is a known fact, Will said, that in 2010, 2012 and 2014 the elections were rigged by the Internal Revenue Service delaying tax-exempt status to conservative groups. In fact, the IRS still is delaying the status to right-leaning organizations, he said.
