Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will meet with presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Thursday in New York, according to political operatives, reports
Politico.
Giuliani left office in 2001, but has continued a prominent role in New York politics.
As the April 19 New York primary approaches, Giuliani has not officially endorsed a candidate. However, the Cruz meeting appears to signal a potential shift in Giuliani's support.
Ted Cruz will need an upset win to pick up enough delegates to close the gap on Trump, which could lead to a contested convention.
After Cruz criticized "New York values," Giuliani said in January that Cruz owed New York an apology, reports

"To have a United States senator running for President paint New York as a city consumed with greed, sin and media obsession is shocking," Giuliani said.
Giuliani has supported Donald Trump in public appearances and was one of the first notable members of the GOP to support the New York real-estate mogul.
The former New York mayor had meetings with Trump at least three times and said Trump is a "close personal friend," reports
The Washington Post.
"He calls to check things out or I'll call him," said Giuliani. "And I'll say, 'Donald, you're going too far,' or 'Donald, what you said was great.'"
"There is candor and there is trust," Giuliani said about their relationship. Trump has an "exceptionally good understanding" of foreign policy, Giuliani said.
