President Donald Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said he was “more optimistic” about the likelihood that special counsel Robert Mueller would be allowed to interview the president.
“I’d say 50-50,” Giuliani told CBS News White House correspondent Major Garrett.
Giuliani said he was “more optimistic” than he has been for weeks about whether an interview between Trump and Mueller would occur. And the two sides have narrowed their differences over what can and can't be asked, according to CBS News.
The former New York City mayor also said he does not think Mueller could win a subpoena over Trump’s testimony, at least not as it pertains to his actions as president.
Giuliani imagines Mueller has seen, in the proposals an outline of achievable goals in order for him to finish his report to Congress on the Trump-related portions of his probe, according to CBS News.
