Glenn Beck: 'I'm Out' of the Republican Party

Radio host Glenn Beck says he's reached the last straw with the Republican Party and is finished with them.

"I've made my decision — I'm out," Beck told his radio audience on Wednesday. "I am not a Republican; I will not give a dime to the Republican Party."

Beck urged listeners to "run from the Republican Party," adding that "they are not good," Politico reported.

Republicans ran for office and "said they were doing all of these great things and they were going to stand against Obamacare and illegal immigration —  they set us up," Beck added. "Enough is enough. They're torpedoing the Constitution and they're doing it knowingly."

Beck blasted Republican leaders for working to crush the efforts of Republican senators like Mike Lee of Utah and Ted Cruz of Texas to push for repeal of Obamacare and oppose President Barack Obama's executive amnesty for illegal immigrants.

"So, I'm done with them," Beck continued. "Four years ago, I was with them. Four years ago, I said work from the inside: let's change it. Let's get new guys in there. It's too late."

While Beck's declaration of his intent to leave the party includes some of his harshest rhetoric yet against the Republican Party, he has fired one broadside after another at the GOP and its leadership in recent years.

For example, Bloomberg reported Wednesday that in January 2014, Beck said on his radio show that "I'm done with the GOP."

Earlier that month, Beck told a caller that "we have never been and never ever will be shills for the Republican Party" and declared that he had "had it with the GOP."

Mediaite reported Wednesday that "Beck has long flirted with the idea of leaving the Republican Party once and for all."

More than two years ago he celebrated the "death" of the Republican Party establishment complete with confetti and video of dying elephants.

In December 2013, Beck, appearing on Mark Levin's radio show, denounced House Speaker John Boehner as  "worthless" and called now-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell "the biggest two-faced liar I've ever seen." Beck said the Republican leadership has "sold our children into slavery so they can have power."

In June 2011, Beck said there are Republicans he dislikes immensely, according to a report in Politico.

"I hate them," he said. "I think they are as much of a problem as the other side."
