President Donald Trump responded to criticism of his playing golf by saying it is "exercise" while he is still getting "a lot of work done."

Trump tweeted Sunday:

"I know many in business and politics that work out endlessly, in some cases to a point of exhaustion. It is their number one passion in life, but nobody complains. My 'exercise' is playing, almost never during the week, a quick round of golf. Obama played more and much longer....

Continuing in an ensuing tweet:

"...rounds, no problem. When I play, Fake News CNN, and others, park themselves anywhere they can to get a picture, then scream 'President Trump is playing golf.' Actually, I play VERY fast, get a lot of work done on the golf course, and also get a 'tiny' bit of exercise. Not bad!"

The website Trump Golf Count has been tracking the president's trips to golf courses, noting when he has officially played golf.

Trump has visited his golf courses 262 times since he became president and is confirmed to have played golf on 125 of those visits, while Obama played 333 rounds of golf during his two terms in office, according to the New York Post.
