Krauthammer: GOP Has 'No Answer' to Obamacare

Republicans facing angry constituents at town hall meetings have themselves to blame for not yet presenting an alternative plan to Obamacare, conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer said Wednesday.

President Donald Trump and others have called the protests manufactured "astroturf." Krauthammer agreed, during the panel discussion on Fox News' "Special Report with Bret Baier," that is partly true.

But, he added, Republicans have been campaigning against Obamacare for seven years, so they have little excuse for not having a replacement ready before they start taking apart former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.

Despite the opposition of the law by many Americans who say it has made their health insurance unaffordable, others say it has had the opposite effect on them.

"They are worried about what is coming," Krauthammer said. "And the Republicans have no answer."

As long as Republicans talk about repealing Obamacare without having a replacement, some people will fear they will lose their healthcare or their doctor, he said.

"Republicans have to have an answer," he said. "The bleeding will continue until they put something on the table."
