Republican stalwart Sen. Chuck Grassley is unhappy with his omission from the tax bill conference, and he took his case Thursday to President Donald Trump via Twitter.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell chose the eight senators who will go to conference with the House to merge the two disparate tax bills, and Grassley was not one of them.

Six of the eight conferees chosen by McConnell sit on the Senate Finance Committee with Grassley, including chairman Sen. Orrin Hatch, but the Iowa Republican is also chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is in the middle of an open Russia investigation.
